Atomicdust Wins Three Riverfront Times ‘Best of the Web’ Awards

Atomicdust was honored to be presented with three 2013 Riverfront Times Web Awards on Tuesday night, including the top prize in the Best Website Design category for the second year in a row.

This time we were recognized in that category for our work on the STL Design Week site. RFT’s judges kindly noted: “there are details galore, but somehow nothing feels cluttered.” They also praised the interface, and its “large calendar panels [that make] it easy to navigate the happenings for this annual event.”

Our work on Gerard Craft’s Pastaria website won in the Best Restaurant Website category. RFT’s judges wrote:

“Restaurant websites are traditionally like a bowl of pasta: chaotic and messy….Designed by the creative team at Atomicdust, pastariastl.com features clean, succinct design.”

We had our fingers crossed tightly when it came to the Best Use of Social Media for a Civic Campaign category, and were pleased to hear that the Face Off Against Hunger campaign had pulled off a win. Face Off, which took place last January, encouraged people to stop by the Atomicdust office and scan their faces onto our copier. For every scan, we donated $5 to St. Louis Food Outreach. RFT was nice enough to feature the Face Off Against Hunger campaign in this week’s print edition. (Pick up a copy!)

A couple of Atomicdust employees also received recognition for personal web projects. Designer Jason Stoff won in the Best Music Blog category for his site Encor.es. Developer Annie McCance was nominated in the same category for her concert review blog I Went to a Show.

In total, we received seven nominations in six categories, including Best Mobile Website for Pastaria, as well as Best Use of Video for a Business/Organization and Best Overall Digital/Campaign Strategy for our work with Goshen Coffee, which included the Bean vs. Bean series.

Thank you to the Riverfront Times for the awards, and congratulations to all of the other winners and nominees who are working to make a more beautiful, interesting, and innovative web.
