Come See the MoPro Bicycle Races in Midtown

Tonight is the first race of the MoPro bicycle races and they’re in Atomicdust’s backyard.  Come down to Midtown Alley at 3:15 and stake a claim on the street, or with our friends at Urban Chestnut to watch the races.

Unlike long-stage races like the Tour de France which only give you a few moments to see the action, the MoPro is a series of criteriums. A criterium is a short-course bike race, usually held on closed-off streets in the center of a city. Winning the race is an exciting mix of sprints, strategy and other tactics – and you can see it all unfold throughout the race.

The following are start times for all the races:

3:15 pm Juniors 20 minutes + 5 Laps

3:50 pm USAC Cat 5 25 minutes + 5 Laps

4:30 pm Master’s 40+/50+ (Cat 1-4) 40 minutes + 5 Laps

5:25 pm Women Cat 3/4 30 minutes +5 Laps

6:10 pm USAC Cat 4/5 35 minutes + 5 Laps

7:00 pm USAC Cat 2/3 50 minutes + 5 Laps

8:10 pm Women Pro/1/2 50 minutes + 5 Laps

9:20 pm Men Pro/1/2 60 minutes + 5 Laps

As a special surprise, I am borrowing a Ducati motorcycle from MotoEuropa to sweep the course in front of the riders, making sure no cars or pedestrians are in the way.

I’ll most likely win as the other racers will be pedaling.

Come on down and watch the fun.

Local Printshop, WORK/PLAY hosts ‘Hello/Goodbye Reception’

There's nothing we enjoy more than supporting the St. Louis creative community, and last night was a night to celebrate with our friends at WORK/PLAY. The local silkscreen, letterpress and design studio invited friends and family over for a ‘Hello/Goodbye Reception’ at their space in The Grove.

In collaboration with Cherokee Street Bikes, WORK/PLAY raffled off a custom fixed gear bike, and the winner was (drumroll, please) Atomicdust's own - Account Manager Erika Cruse. Not only is she excited to have won, but we are all secretly hoping the bike ends up on display in our office.

Looks like we are not the only ones excited about this custom bike - Kevin from WORK/PLAY stopped by this morning to try and reclaim the bike. Erika won.

We want to thank Kevin and Danielle McCoy at WORK/PLAY for hosting a great party last night, and wish them the best of luck with all their future endeavors.

Also, special shout out to Christopher Branson for designing the type and logo.

Each agency will have a dedicated time for patrons to stop by for complimentary drinks, snacks and conversation. Atomicdust will be open from 6:30-7:30pm

For more information and to RSVP, check out the invite from AdSaint on Facebook. And keep an eye out for flyers, printed by Skip Bray at Midtown Printing

Danielle to Share Pinterest Tips at PRSA Tech Day

As the popularity of Pinterest builds, brands are jumping on the bandwagon. Just like an other social tool, there are do's and don'ts regarding how your brand should be represented on the site, and even the question of whether Pinterest is a good fit for a brand to begin with.

On Friday, Danielle Hohmeier, Online Marketing Manager at Atomicdust, will be presenting 'Building a Visual Brand on Pinterest' at PRSA St. Louis Tech Day, along with fellow Social Media Club St. Louis board members, Lisa Derus and Jessica Leitch.

PRSA St. Louis Tech Day is being held Friday, November 9th at Mercy Conference Center in St. Louis. The half-day conference features presentations on public relations, social media, SEO and marketing from some of St. Louis' brightest minds. Visit PRSA's website to learn more about the event and to register.
