Do you like the people you work with? You probably do, hopefully at least some of them.
Next question. Would you ever want to drive across the country with them? That’s probably a bit over the line.
Weapons of Mass Creation is the premier design conference and music festival in the Midwest. It features 20 speakers, 20 designers, and 30+ bands. The conference includes inspiring talks on subjects like design, creativity, entrepreneurship, community activism and pursing happiness as a creative go-getter.
But it’s not only a unique line up of creatives that makes the conference different. A 3-day ticket to the event only costs 60 bucks. We attend a lot of conferences across the country, and I can’t remember ever paying under $500.00 for admission.
Believing in the value of inspiration, we extended the invite to anyone on the Atomicdust staff who wanted to attend. We figured a flight and hotel in Cleveland would be pretty affordable. But then something strangely wonderful happened. Out of the 8 people that could go, everyone decided it would be better to rent a van and drive. Seriously.
Theres something about a road trip that makes it seem like more of an adventure. Maybe it’s the summer and it seems like the right thing to do. Maybe we’re just a little crazy.
So on June 8th, one-half of our award-winning (and maybe a little crazy) creative crew at Atomicdust will be loading into a van for a road trip from St. Louis to Cleveland that none of us will soon forget.
And if any other creative agency in the midwest wants to race us to Cleveland Cannonball Run-style, throw down the gauntlet via Twitter.
