Expanding Mercy’s Reach Virtually

Expanding Mercy’s Reach Virtually

For the past several years, Mercy has led the way in expanding healthcare’s reach through their telehealth efforts. In preparation for the announcement of Mercy’s new virtual care building, the first of its kind in the world, Atomicdust was engaged to develop a unique launch experience in the most fitting way – virtually.

To build excitement among community members and employees, Atomicdust designed and built the Mercy Virtual microsite to host an innovative announcement countdown to the virtual “groundbreaking.” Taking a cue from Mercy’s commitment to preserve the wildlife surrounding the virtual care center, virtual leaves appeared on the screen as each second passed. Videos on the site teased information about the announcement, with more added in the weeks leading up to the launch. Once on the site, visitors were also able to sign up to learn more about the initiative.

We created a mailer using the same tree imagery from the countdown to inspire potential visitors, patients and employees to visit the site.

On launch day, May 13, Atomicdust programmed a full-screen countdown to take over the site. At 11:00 a.m., the countdown was replaced with a video from Mercy’s CEO announcing the virtual care center and welcoming in a new era in healthcare – one that will support physicians
 and patients across the country.

Mercy employees watched the countdown and video announcement live on launch day at viewing parties across the country. The groundbreaking received overwhelming media attention.

Atomicdust is now in the process of building a new Mercy Virtual website to share videos, webinars, news and more. For now, you can find more information about Mercy’s telehealth efforts here.
