Evolve Communities

Continuing in their tradition of innovation in education, Elsevier and Evolve pioneered online networking communities designed specifically for nursing and healthcare professions students and faculty. The Evolve Communities offer users a new way to connect with their peers and engage directly with thought leaders within the academic environment. When promoting the new communities, it was important that the experiences we created were as dynamic as the multidimensional, media-rich learning experiences Elsevier and Evolve have come to be known for.

Prior to the communities' launch, we designed a series of animated teasers to build excitement in anticipation of their arrival. Each addressed common challenges faced in the unexciting traditional learning environment and presented a solution that would soon be available from the Evolve Communities. To support the launch, we developed a microsite that introduces users to the Communities, their functionality and their content. The site includes an interactive quiz, job hunting exercise and a video reel to engage users and direct them to the different blogs, forums, videos and articles that address topics of interest. We incorporated instructional videos to demonstrate its many features and how using them to connect with peers and share experiences could help users prepare for success.
