PGAV Destinations

A few surprises and a perspective shift helped a destination design firm break out of their category’s clichés on the web.

The Ride Begins

PGAV Destinations provides ride design, exhibit design, master planning services and more for clients around the world, including the Biltmore Companies and National Geographic. As their list of services grew and their industries expanded over the last five decades, their positioning had become jumbled, and their existing website no longer captured the scope or magic of their work.

A Change of Perspective

Most of PGAV’s competitors attract new clients with attendance statistics and flashy 3-D renderings. We wanted to tell a story about something bigger: what it means to create an unforgettable visitor experience, and how the passionate people of PGAV achieve it day in and day out. Instead of flashy aerial shots and physically impossible ride blueprints, our designs focused on the magic of each guest’s perspective. Every page is designed to offer site visitors new, delightful surprises – helping reflect the experience they would have at any PGAV destination.

Creating Enduring Memories

On the new, mobile-friendly site, gorgeous video headers and thoughtfully animated elements demonstrate PGAV’s work in motion. Embedded tweets show tourists’ real-time reactions to PGAV projects. Candid photographs of families and hand-drawn project sketches give the strategy and design processes more humanity, while fun tourism statistics highlight the firm’s commitment to research – a huge differentiator.

Award-Winning Design

The PGAV Destinations website has been honored at the Marketing Excellence Awards (ME Show), American Advertising Awards, AIGA St. Louis Design Show and Graphic Design USA American Web Design Awards. Take a look behind the scenes of this award-winning project.
