Things We’ve Learned So Far: Competition and Positioning

How do companies stand out from the competition, especially in markets where it seems everyone is saying and doing the same thing?

Things We’ve Learned So Far: Competition and Positioning

Companies turn to marketing firms for one reason – competition.

Most try to be more competitive by building a shinier website, buying a bigger tradeshow booth, or by launching a new campaign. Instead, they should focus on building an advantage through positioning.

Positioning is what makes a car more drivable, shoes more wearable and beards more acceptable. Positioning and the experience designed around it create differentiation.

In the video above, Atomicdust Creative Director Mike Spakowski and Account Director Jesse McGowan share more on why a new website isn’t always the answer, as well as the nature of competition and the role of positioning and design in creating competitive advantage.
