A new website helped United Way of Greater St. Louis define its impact, celebrate its community and inspire volunteers.

Big Impact, Big Challenges

United Way of Greater St. Louis has enormous name recognition, but its work can be hard for the average person to articulate. In a nutshell, they partner with nearly 200 local agencies to assist one in three people in the region — but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. We discovered that United Way’s work is best expressed through the incredible stories of people involved in or helped by its programs and partners.

What’s Your Story?

To help people understand United Way and feel personally invested in its mission, we created “What’s Your Story?,” an interactive piece that asks visitors about themselves, their community and their concerns. When visitors select issues they care about, customized links populate at the bottom of the page to connect them to more information about United Way’s efforts around those causes, as well as relevant volunteer opportunities, blog posts, and events.

Website and Mobile

Because United Way of Greater St. Louis does so much for the community, their website has a lot to say. Our web and mobile approach balanced cheerful and clean visuals with the site’s complex content and navigation structure. Open communication with the client helped ensure that external visitors and internal staff members could find everything they needed.

An Award-Winning Effort

In 2014, the United Way of Greater St. Louis website received an American Advertising Award Certificate of Excellence from Ad Club St. Louis and a Silver award at the Targeted Advertising and Marketing (TAM) Awards.
