Hitting the Road for Louisville Design Week

Hitting the Road for Louisville Design Week

It looks like Ol’ Jess and and myself are loading up the car and heading to Louisville for their second annual Design Week.

Louisville Design Week brings together designers and other creative professionals for a five consecutive days of lectures, workshops and meetups dedicated to celebrating and inspiring great design.

Not only will we be hanging out with the awesome Louisville creative community and our friends at VIA Studio, Jess and I will be giving a talk on Atomicdust’s branding process titled, Brands: They Grow Up So Quick at VIA Studio on Thursday afternoon. If you’re lucky enough to be joining us in Kentucky this week, here’s a description of what to expect:

Atomicdust business partners and brothers-in-law Jesse McGowan and Mike Spakowski will talk about their process for turning abstract ideas into visual, experiential, culture-changing, grown-up brands that move out of the house and never call you anymore.

Not going to Louisville? We’re planning on giving a similar version of this talk here in St. Louis soon, so keep an eye out for news on that.

Last year I had the pleasure of attending Louisville’s first Design Week, which somehow lead to a late night dinner with the entire Louisville AIGA board and Stephen Sagmeister. Proof that anything can happen.

I don’t know what adventures await Jesse and I this year, but I’m sure we’ll come back from the Louisville inspired.
