The 4th Annual Midtown Alley BBQ: Bigger and Better Than Ever
We knew this year’s Midtown Alley BBQ would be bigger and better than ever (after all, there was a Bubble Bus), but your support exceeded all of our expectations.
With 15 competitors and more than 400 attendees, we raised $5,700 to help our friends at Food Outreach provide meals to St. Louis families battling cancer and HIV/AIDS.
Our little agency grilling competition has grown into a serious battle, with judges who know their meat – Chris Bolyard (Bolyard’s Meat & Provisions), Simon Lusky (Revel Kitchen), Mike Johnson (Sugarfire Smoke House) and Rick Lewis (Southern) – and competitors who were out grilling before we even arrived at the office for work. 2e Creative took home the top spot, followed by Fusion in second place and Propaganda in third. We also crowned SPOT Media Production Group our inaugural Spirit Award winner.
And of course, we have to thank Mac’s Local Buys and Rockwood Charcoal for supplying our competitors with locally sourced ribs and all-natural lump charcoal.
Those of us not manning the grills enjoyed dinner from Sugarfire Smoke House, dessert from The Cook’s Life and drinks from 4 Hands and Urban Chestnut. Everyone stayed entertained with live music from Rocky Mountain Oysters, washers and cornhole from Francis Woodworking and of course, the strange sight of bubbles floating across the Midtown Alley sunset, courtesy of the Bubble Bus.
Thank you again to all the competitors, judges, sponsors and hungry (and thirsty) patrons who partied with us in the street this year.
