Atomicdust’s “Helvetica” Screening Recap

Atomicdust’s “Helvetica” Screening Recap

We weren’t too sure what to expect when we announced a screening of one of our favorite design documentaries. We’ve hosted screenings before, but this one was different. The movie, Gary Hustwit’s Helvetica, is about a typeface. And it came out 13 years ago. Again, it’s about a typeface.

But to our delight, there was interest. Actually, a lot of interest. The event sold out (or whatever the term is for an event that’s free) weeks before the screening and had a great turnout of designers and design-appreciators the night of.

We used the event as an opportunity to give back to the community. Guests donated nonperishable food items and cash donations to benefit St. Louis Area Foodbank. The organization provides more than 28 million meals a year to Missouri and Illinois neighbors in need.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for the event!
