Atomicdust Earns Gold ADDY for Small Circle Book Design

There aren’t a ton of book design awards nowadays, but we’re proud to announce that we won a 2020 ADDY for a recent book design project.

If you’re not familiar, the American Advertising Awards (or ADDYs) are the advertising industry’s largest competition. Hosted by the American Advertising Federation, the ADDYs receive more than 40,000 entries at the local level each year. Gold ADDYs recognize the highest level of creative excellence, judged to be superior to all other entries in the category.

Small Circle Cookbook branding food photography

This year, Atomicdust earned a Gold ADDY for our Small Circle book design. We worked with local creatives and Small Circle co-creators R.J. Hartbeck and Mary von der Heydt to create the branding and design for their cookbook series, which features R.J.’s gorgeous food photography and recipes by some of St. Louis’ most talented chefs. (If you loved the first edition, you’re in luck—finishing touches for the next installment are going in now.)

As a Gold ADDY winner, Atomicdust’s entry will advance to regionals, going up against the best-of-the-best from the Kansas City and Omaha markets. If it does well enough there, it will go on to compete in the national competition. We’re keeping our fingers crossed.

Congrats to all of this year’s winners, and thank you to Ad Club STL for the honor!
