Paving the Way for Change in Healthcare with the Power of Video

Fundamental changes are coming to the way healthcare professionals do their jobs. By 2013, organizations will need to move to a new coding standard called ICD-10. And our client, Elsevier Revenue Cycle Strategies eLearning, is dedicated to making the transition easy and painless.

They came to us with a challenge: they needed to reach out to healthcare organizations to communicate the importance of preparing for the change. They asked us to help convey the message that this is not a flip-the-switch transition, it takes planning and training to do it right.

During our pre-project exploration, we learned the client had an existing video that wasn’t getting the job done. It was so filled with generic stock imagery and an abundance of buzzwords that the urgency of the message was lost.

We pared down the language and focused on the benefits organizations can reap as they make a smooth transition to the new coding standards. The concept of a timeline, echoing the strategic, step-by-step process required, became a compelling metaphor than runs throughout the video. It provides more than simple visual interest, it underscores and supports the overall message.

We believe therein lies the power of all great communications: clarity, simplicity and cohesiveness. When you strip away the buzzwords and give visuals and messaging room to work together, even the most complex concepts become clear and digestible.

Take a look, and let us know what you think.
