Building a Modern Identity and Website for Homeyer

Building a Modern Identity and Website for Homeyer

If you think “tool and die manufacturer” the first words that pop into your head probably won’t be “modern” or high tech.” In most cases, you’d be right. But not if you were talking about Atomicdust client, formerly known as Homeyer Tool and Die.

They came to us looking for a new brand identity and website to reflect the changing nature of their business. Sure, tool and die work has been the foundation of their company and will always be part of their operation. But it’s dwindling. And they’ve smartly responded by shifting to precision manufacturing for some very demanding industries, like healthcare, military, aviation and energy.

To rebuild their brand, we started by visiting the factory floor and interviewing key leaders, employees and customers. There was instant consensus that Homeyer was a future-focused manufacturer with an eye on quality. They’ve made significant investments in technology and talent. Yet this was nowhere to be seen in their marketing materials.

With this in mind, we set to work.

We took a look at the most basic element: their name and logo. We shortened the logotype to just read Homeyer. On first mentions and in more formal presentations, we suggested the company use, “Homeyer Precision Manufacturing.” This carries an SEO advantage, of course, but also gives the company the flexibility to embrace emerging trends without changing their customer-facing name.

The new logo and mark echoes the name’s timeless quality. To craft the mark, we started by using the visual language of mechanical drafting and CNC machining, abstracting the elements and refining the technology. The result is a professional, powerful logo that speaks to their years of expertise.

With a new visual language in place, we created the company’s new website. We built the site around the core message that no matter what customer need, Homeyer delivers. On time, on spec and on budget.

We used all original photography, giving the site a personal, hands-on feel while showing the real technology that Homeyer uses every day to serve their customers. Case studies and an ever-growing parts gallery showcase the company’s work on a clear, bright stage.

Best of all, we built the site with the future in mind. So as the company completes new projects, adds new technology or enters emerging markets, their own marketing staff can log in to WordPress and update the content.
